Mercer Companies, Inc., a New York corporation, was organized in 1978 by William Bantz.  Since that time, Mercer has evolved into a group of complementary businesses operating in New York, North Carolina, and South Carolina and continues to be actively engaged in real estate acquisitions, development, and management.

Mercer has developed, acquired, financed, and managed projects totaling over $400 million including 1,500+ units of HUD housing projects, 6 industrial hydroelectric generating facilities, several rehabilitated urban commercial office buildings, 144 units of student housing, and numerous multifamily apartments.  Mercer leverages its knowledge of development, acquisition, regulatory, finance, and management matters to create successful projects.

Some of Mercer's signature projects include:

• Adaptive renovation of three historic office buildings in Downtown Albany, forming the beginning of E-Comm Square, an urban commercial office park designed for over 1.2 million square feet of space
• Development, construction, and mangement of the Glen Park Hydroelectric Facility, a 32,000 kilowatt electric generation facility outside of Watertown, NY - originally the largest privately owned hydroelectric facility east of the Mississippi River
• Development, construction, and management of over $150 million in senior and multi-family housing projects in New York and New Jersey
• Development of a specialized Alzheimer's unit at the Teresian House Nursing Home in Albany, NY
